OVERVIEW

This 3-batten sail is the shortcut to having fun on the water. Based on our performance wave sails, we created a sail that feels light as a feather, creates controlled drive with little backhand pressure, and will twist and flex like a proper sail. Over are the days where beginners, women, kids and teenagers needed to fight with flappy and heavy sails! Here comes the revolution. Easy planing, the lightest handling for waterstarts and jibes, enough drive to allow you to use the smallest size possible, and on top, a wide, wide wind range. Combined with our ultra-light Micro Mast and our Micro Boom, this sail is the perfect setup for the future generation of windsurfing!

CONSTRUCTION

The 3-Micro is a REAL wave sail for advanced kids and juniors. Our main goals when we developed it were: LIGHTNESS and DURABILITY. To combine these opposite requirements, we found the following mix to be the best solution. All the "coloured" panels are made by 2 MIL x/scrim-ply, which is extremely light but still very resistant to cuts and rips due to its high number of wires. Then for the clear window, we chose a solid and thick 5 MIL monofilm (which -in the worst case- is also easy to find in any sail repair shop).
Besides that, we "carried over" all the small details and reinforcements from our 4-Wave and 5-Wave sails to create a proper wave-ready sail for smaller and lighter riders.

TRIM

The 4Micro offers an extended trim-range on both downhaul and outhaul.
This sail feels smooth as butter and is a feather in your hands. Rig it with a little free leech to gain control. The super-soft batten rotation will be maintained even with a more baggy sail. Trim it like a regular wavesail. This is a no-nonsense performance sail for kids, youth, women and light riders. The sizes 3.2 and 3.8 are designed with a higher boom and clew, while the small sizes are fully adapted to kids' proportions to guarantee maximum fun on the water. For best performance, choose our ultra-light kids carbon masts that fit the sails best.

Construction

The 3-Micro is a true wave sail for advanced children and juniors. Our main goals during development were lightness and durability. The colored panels are made from 2 MIL x/scrim-ply – extremely light yet highly tear-resistant thanks to the high thread count. For the clear window, we chose a solid and thick 5 MIL monofilm, which is also easy to obtain from any sail repair shop.

In addition, we have incorporated all the small details and reinforcements from our 4-Wave and 5-Wave sails to create a truly wave-ready sail for smaller and lighter riders.
